Each Cortex plug has been fully engineered and tested to yield the ultimate long term performance. This in-house and third-party testing includes:
- UV stability/Long term weathering
- Intense Freeze-Thaw cyclic testing
- Expansion/Contraction cyclic testing
- Moisture saturation/freezing performance
- Impact resistance
The Cortex Screw
Each Cortex screw is ACQ approved and corrosion resistant. FastenMaster Cortex is approved for use in salt water areas. If Cortex deck is in direct contact with salt water (example: Dock application in the water), FastenMaster Cortex is not approved.
Warranty
FastenMaster fully warranties the performance of the FastenMaster Cortex Concealed Fastening System for the following performance attributes for the life of your project:
Plug connection: When set correctly as described above, FastenMaster warrantees that the Cortex plugs will not raise above the deck surface.
Plug coloration: FastenMaster warrantees that the Cortex Pre-engineered plugs will weather to the same tone as the matching decking.
Fastener corrosion: The FastenMaster Cortex screw has been tested and is warranted for use in ACQ, Copper Azole pressure treated lumber. FastenMaster Cortex is approved for use in salt water areas. If Cortex deck is in direct contact with salt water (example: Dock application in the water), FastenMaster Cortex is not approved.
FastenMaster offers a full money back guarantee for the retail price of the product to anyone who is dissatisfied with the product. In addition, FastenMaster will replace all plugs and/or screws that are not performing correctly at no cost to the installer.
While FastenMaster takes responsibility for the above stated performance of this fastener, the FastenMaster Cortex Concealed Fastening System is fully recognized and approved by AZEK Deck, Trex and TimberTech.
